Terms & Policies

This page is the rulebook of our digital hangout – it's where you'll find all the dos and don'ts in the Terms & Conditions, how I handle your info with care in my Privacy Policy, and how I’m making this place accessible for everyone with my Accessibility Policy.

I’m here to make sure naomijandrews.com is a fun and helpful place for all. But  I’m human, and I might goof up or miss the mark sometimes. If that happens, it’s not on purpose, and I would welcome a friendly nudge on how I can do better.

Terms & Conditions

Last updated March 5th, 2024 by Naomi J. Andrews

Hello and welcome to naomijandrews.com – my little corner of the internet where I help changemakers like you navigate the journey from vision to action. Before we dive into the good stuff, let’s talk about the ground rules – but in a fun way, because who said terms and conditions have to be a snooze fest?

Basics

  • Who Runs This Show? That would be me, Naomi! I'm the sole proprietor of this website, and I'm here to offer you strategy, messaging, design, and coaching services.

  • What’s On Offer? From helping you map out your mission to crafting your story, designing your brand, and boosting your leadership skills, I've got you covered.

  • The Golden Rule By hanging out here and using my services, you’re agreeing to these terms. Think of it as the rulebook that keeps everything running smoothly.

The low down

  • Grown-Up Stuff You need to be at least 18 to use my services. Technically you may only need to be 13 but if you are between 13-17 and have boat loads of cash you likely have something else you want to spend it on besides my services anyway.

  • Cookie Jar Yep, I use cookies here – but only to make your experience better, not for selling your info or anything shady.

  • Privacy Is Key Your digital privacy is a big deal to me. I only track stuff to improve the website and I promise to protect your privacy in the same way I would like mine to be protected.

  • No Refunds on the Deposit Just like securing a spot at a concert, your deposit books your spot with me and is non-refundable. It’s all about commitment!

  • Change Is Good Sometimes, I might need to update these terms, but I’ll update them here when I do.  Staying flexible is how we grow!

Techy stuff

  • All About You (not in a creepy way) Anything you upload or share stays yours. Just make sure you have the rights to it.

  • Cool Tools I use Wix to keep this site awesome. They’re the muscle behind the magic. I'm also connected to Google and Facebook for marketing purposes. I reserve the right to connect to other social platforms in the future.

  • Community Vibes If we ever get a community space going here, it’s all about positivity and support. Just remember, what goes online stays online – screenshots last forever.

Got questions?

If you’re ever unsure about something or just want to chat, shoot me an email at naomi@naomijandrews.com. I’m here to make your journey as smooth as possible.

By sticking around, you're nodding to all the above – it’s how we ensure this space is beneficial for everyone involved. Thanks for being here, and let’s make some waves together!

P.S. Remember, this isn’t legal advice – just me keeping it real. If you need the legalese, it might be good to chat with a legal pro.

My Privacy Promise

Last updated March 5th, 2024 by Naomi J. Andrews

Just like you, I value my privacy and I'm committed to protecting yours. So, let's cut through the jargon and talk about what happens with your info when you hang out here.

The Basics

Contact me anytime: If you've got questions or just want to chat about privacy (or anything else, really), drop me a line at naomi@naomijandrews.com.

What I collect and why

  • Just Browsing? I use a bit of tracking magic (nothing creepy, I promise!) to see how my site’s being used. This helps me make naomijandrews.com even better for you and others. It’s all about improving, never about snooping.

  • Saying Hi or Signing Up? If you drop me an email or sign up for anything, I’ll have your email address and maybe your name and number. But that’s just so we can chat (consensually) or I can send you the stuff you asked for.

I Don't Know What You Did Last Summer

(but I may know your name)

When you visit my site, it's like leaving footprints in the digital sand. I might see where you came from, what pages you checked out, and when you waved goodbye, but I won't necessarily know it's you specifically. "But wait," you may be thinking, "what do you mean by necessarily?”

Wix allows me to know who fills out a form and who buys stuff from my site. They also have marketing features that may identify returning customers, but as a one-woman show, I have too many things on my plate to obsess over who is visiting my site. I am however all about improving your experience without getting all up in your business. So if you share your contact information with me, I'll only use it to contact you about my services or respond to any requests you send me.

You may notice some of my forms do require you to share your phone number but listen, I am a typical millennial who hates talking on the phone unless absolutely necessary. If you misspell your email address and I can't find another way to get back to you, I will likely reach out by phone. But don't worry, I will try to text you first and let you know my number so you can screen my calls if you want to.

Here's the deal with Cookies

Cookies are like tiny memory aids for websites. They help my site remember if you've visited before, so we can load it faster and show you stuff you might like. This is especially helpful for large graphics or videos. But hey, if cookies aren't your thing, you can tell your browser to keep them at bay. All you have to do is a simple web search for how to turn off cookies on (insert browser name) browser.  Those of you using Google Chrome may find this information helpful.

Your choices

You're in control here. If you don't want me to know which pages you've danced through, you can sneak around incognito by changing your browser settings.

Sharing? Only when necessary

I'm not in the business of selling your info to ad companies or making a quick buck off your data. However there is always the possibility that the typical offenders are able to access information without my knowledge because of the way the internet works these days (hey I'm a designer, not a programmer).

All I can promise you is that I will never intentionally violate your privacy. The only time I'll knowingly hand over your data is if the law knocks on my digital (or heaven forbid literal) door asking for it. And even then I would make sure to seek legal counsel before sharing information–I won’t give up information unless there is no other way around it. And I'll definitely fight with all I have if someone is trying to use that information to make you submit to the will of right wing extremists. These lips are sealed.

Kids and Privacy

My website is aimed at adults doing adulty things like running for office and making climate deniers cry. If you're under 18 and checking out my site, that's cool, but please don't share any personal info with me. It's not that I don't like you, it's that the internet can be a wild place, and I want to make sure you stay safe.

This only covers my site

This privacy spiel only covers what happens on naomijandrews.com. If you click a link that takes you elsewhere, their privacy policy will take the wheel and even Jesus will have a hard time taking back the wheel once Zuckerberg or Bezos has it.

Uh-Oh, Hackers!

In the digital world, I'm like a (really out-of-shape) MMA fighter protecting your info, but sometimes bad guys slip through the cracks. Here's the deal:

  • Fast Action If something fishy happens and someone unauthorized gets a peek at your data, I'll jump into action faster than you can say "hacker."

  • Keeping You in the Loop I believe in transparency. So, if your data's at risk, you'll hear from me with the what, when, how, and what we can do about it.

  • Working Together Protecting your data is a team sport. I'll do my part, but I'll also guide you on any steps you might need to take to stay safe.

Remember, while I'm all about building fortresses around your data, staying vigilant is key. If you notice anything odd or have concerns, shoot me an email at naomi@naomijandrews.com. Let's keep the digital playground safe, together.

If you stay, you agree

By hanging out on my site you’re consenting that we're on the same page about privacy. If I tweak anything I'll update it here but it is unlikely I'll remember to send it out. I have ADHD afterall and America is the wild west of digital privacy. That being said, people who live in California have some extra protections thanks to the adults in their state legislature.

Your digital rights – California style

For my friends in California (but honestly I'd do the same for anyone else if you asked me to), you’ve got some extra rights when it comes to your personal info:

  • Know What’s What You can ask me what personal info I have about you, where it came from, and what I’m doing with it.

  • Say No to the Show Don’t want your info sold? No problem. I don’t sell your info anyway, because that’s just not cool.

  • Take It Back You can ask me to delete your personal info if you don’t want me hanging onto it anymore.

  • No Getting Mad I promise not to get all huffy if you exercise your rights. We’re all friends here.

Got questions?

If anything here made you go "hmm" or if you just want to learn more about how I protect your privacy, shoot me an email at naomi@naomijandrews.com. Thanks for visiting, and let's make some positive change together!

Accessibility Policy

Inclusivity isn’t just a buzzword for me; it’s the heart of everything I do. Whether you’re here to explore my services, dive into some resources, or just get to know me better, I want to make sure everyone feels welcome and can navigate my site with ease.

Need Assistance?

If there’s something on my website that’s giving you trouble or you’ve got some thoughts on how I can make things more accessible, I’m all ears. Drop me a line at naomi@naomijandrews.com, and let’s chat. Your feedback is gold to me — it helps me make sure my corner of the internet is comfortable and accessible for everyone.

My Accessibility Promise

I’m on a mission to make naomijandrews.com as inclusive as possible. That means aiming high to meet the accessibility standards laid out by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 AA. Here’s what that looks like:

  • Easy to Read I’m all about clear, simple language (because who needs jargon?), and I format content to make it a breeze to read.

  • Navigable for All Whether you’re a keyboard warrior, a screen reader user, or a mouse aficionado, moving around my site should be smooth sailing.

  • Inclusive Design From color contrasts that pop to text that’s big and bold, I design with everyone in mind.

  • Beyond My Digital Backyard I love linking to other cool spots on the web. While I try to ensure these external sites are also accessible, I can’t always guarantee it. But I’m picky about where I link, aiming for the most inclusive sites out there.

Learning and Growing

The web’s always changing, and so am I. Staying on top of accessibility means I’m continually learning, tweaking, and improving. I’m committed to this journey and to making my website a place where everyone can feel at home, but I have my own struggles with ADHD and sometimes miss something. Don't hesitate to let me know if there's something I can do to make my site more accessible.
